Verified Purchase. A unique presentation of anatomy. It is somewhat limited but perhaps adding his other titles will supplement the info. Not the only book needed to study anatomy. Clinical Anatomy Made Ridiculously Simple succeeds outstandingly in making the points you can remember -- not exactly for the next detailed quiz, but in the fundamental structure and outline that makes for longer-term remembering and understanding.
The intent of the humorous or outrageous depictions and mnemonics and simplification is to register a framework for understanding; and in my opinion, the book succeeds outstandingly even compared to other "simplifying" or "idiot" copycats. Additionally, I think there is the right balance between sketchiness and thoroughness in this light-hearted book with its serious topic. Well done and commendable, in my opinion! I bought this book prior to my 3rd year surgical rotation because I was scared I had forgotten everything about anatomy from first year. The book has some good ideas and mnemonics if you like them. Personally I didn't find it that helpful and I don't like mnemonics. I found it easier to look through a text like Surgical Recall which reviews the anatomy of specific surgeries as well as common pimp questions. Also looking at a surgical atlas and the steps of a specific surgery was a good anatomy review prior to the case. I found this incredibly helpful for gross anatomy.
When crunch time came, I found I was able to do well enough on exams with mainly studying this book. I remember using this book while taking anatomy. Now it is helping my daughter through her anatomy class. good for quick over view for quick revision. The illustration could be represented better for an artistic point of view. This book only provides the absolute basics. I really like the other subjects in this series, but this book falls short. It does not have a large quantity of material and does not go into detail about anything- which is necessary in medical school.
If you are just looking for a fun little book to read up on anatomy then this might be good, but if you are looking for something to supplement your textbooks and course material for a graduate level course then you should look elsewhere.
